Why apologise? That's what the crowd is for - pump up the team and try to drown out the other team's calls, isn't it? 
At least you're not mistaken for a damned londoner or anyone else from the SE of england... I moved from that area when I was 4 years old and have never lived there since (and only visited a dozen times or less since) and still I can't shake the accent.
