Get well soon Nellie. Is it a bad break?
This can only do good things for your forum posting, not being able to walk anywhere else! Some amazing returns before that though.

Re: Nellie
As far as I'm aware Dan, it seems to be a clean break the Doc say's "He did a good job of it", so it's looking 8 weeks in plaster at least.
Regarding your questions on ankle support I don't think it would help at all, as all the tension build up has to go somewhere when somebody rolls on your ankle, or you get it caught in the turf. It would just end up probably as a leg fracture, unfortunately we just seem to be bitten by the injury bug at the moment.
I'll see him tonight when he gets out of theatre and see how he is doing then, should be able to report tomorrow lunch time.

Re: Nellie
Unlucky mate, & you were one of the regular lads that turned up as well..
What happend, was it the norm injury on astro turf, you turn one way but the cleat locks in the turf??
Were you wearing studs or astro turf boots?
Who is going to step into Dude's boots now & go down like a bag of shit and make the over 40's look good when ever we hit him!!!!!
Get well soon mate & now there is loads of time for you to spend it in your caravan!!

Re: Nellie
It was as Dave called it, just a freak injury could have been anybody really. I went to see him this evening for about 5 minutes as he was so doped up on Morphine, that he had no idea where he was and just wanted to sleep. Operation was a complete success, so his bones just have to play the waiting game now and see how he heals.
Whether he will play again, I think is very much leaning towards not, and just going into coaching.
I've got his pads and helmet so I'll be bringing them on Thursday along with a warm body to occupy them as the only thing holding him back at the moment is the £ for the pads. I'll keep you all updated on his progress, he is hoping to be out tomorrow and back home depending on how he feels in the morning.

At the moment I'm on crutches and it'll be that way for bout 6 weeks, then another 2-3 monts before I'm totally healed.
It was one of those things that couldn't be avoided, Thats life. Just a shame that it wasn't during a game

That's the spirit
Thats why we love Nellie, although a normal human would have probably wished for the injury not to have happened at all, lol.
