American football team in Carlisle!!!!

Alright boys.......long time no speak, i dont go on forum much........whats the rumours your trying to get the Mariners team based in Carlisle!!!!....or is it just a rumour??

is there a chance of this actually happening ????

if there is any developments. You guys did very well from what i have found out. almost did it, im sure the people who play elsewhere would get involved again

Should we, maybe in the new year, get together in Carlisle some Saturday for a throw-about?
If nothing else we could get a bit of crack and see if there might be any interest. Also maybe meet some of the new interested guys.

even though we would lose a couple of very god players i think you should go for it.

but a few pointers first.....

1) all you guys that played at wolves/cv last season should go into this 100%, not half arsed.

2) while a senior team might be a stretch to compete next season, looking at 2011 really, you NEED to get YOUTH FOOTBALL GOING, christ theres enough of you to make sure that you can coach it and it will get more press and publicity and MONEY and the byproduct is players will graduate to your senior team.

3) be prepared for a slog, realise it takes more than 6 months to get a new team going, plan for 2011 and build a junior / youth programme in conjunction with the schools, speak to the councils after schools coordinator

4) you need to get all players to put the club first, not go plying elsewhere, they need to commit NOW!

Hey guys, marco and iain contacted me about the team reforming in carlisle.
i know i joined really late as you were trying to get in the league but i would be 100% behind it any would love to play again. count me in!
